Revved Up for Road America: BHA Fast Facts
Fast Now First: Since becoming co-drivers in 2023, Harry Gottsacker and Robert Wickens have achieved ten podiums consisting of 6 second and 4 third place finishes along with a series title before getting their first win! The pair won two weeks ago at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. For Wickens, it was his first time taking the winning checkers from the driver’s seat since his return to racing with hand controls.
-20: With two victories and a podium finish at every race this season, Hyundai has tightened the points chase in the manufacturer’s championship. They are just 20 points out of the lead with four races remaining.
Gaining Momentum: Taylor Hagler and Bryson Morris had their best result of the season at CTMP when they finished fourth. It was the second consecutive top-five finish for the pair who are in their first season as co-drivers.
Lightening in the Throttle: The latest episode of “Lightening in the Throttle,” titled “The Mountain Bites Back” was released earlier this week. The Hyundai web series chronicles the IONIQ 5 N Pikes Peak program with Bryan Herta Autosport. The latest episode features the test runs up the mountain and Paul Dallenbach’s harrowing crash. Pole #10: Harry Gottsacker continues to strengthen IMSA’s record for TCR pole positions, as he earned his 10th TCR pole at CTMP. In addition, he is the defending TCR pole winner at Road America. A special place for Harry. The Gottsacker roots go back several generations in the small town of Elkhart Lake.
$16k So Far: Hyundai Hope On Wheels has pledged to donate $100 for every lap a Hyundai Elantra N TCR leads during every race of the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season. The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin will receive the donation based on laps led this weekend at Road America. 2024 Season Tally: $16,000 (Daytona: 12, Sebring: 21, Laguna Seca 23, Mid-Ohio 44, Watkins Glen 22 and CTMP 35).
