HARRY GOTTSACKER SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN BMW JUNIOR SHOOTOUT
Harry Gottsacker will travel to Munich as one of the young drivers vying for a spot on the BMW Junior Team for 2019. Gottsacker will participate in a series of physical tests, mental tests, and interviews at BMW in hopes of making it to the driving portion of the program. The 2019 shootout will be the first of its kind for BMW with the introduction of using a race simulator for evaluation of the candidates. The winner of the shootout will campaign a full season in the Italian GT Championship in a BMW M6 GT3 entered by BMW Team Italia.
“I am honored that BMW has selected me to try out for the BMW Junior Team. It has been my dream since I started racing to be a factory driver for a manufacturer participating in the great endurance races in the world. They have one of the strongest junior programs out there, and I hope I can be the next American driver on their team. BMW is always successful in their motorsport activities as demonstrated by their recent Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona victory,” said 19-year-old Gottsacker.
