Harry Gottsacker and Performance Motorsports Group Head to Sonoma
Harry Gottsacker will race the No. 29 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta G55 GT4 this weekend, September 16-18, at Sonoma Raceway in Pirelli World Challenge GTS Rounds 16 and 17.
Gottsacker earned his first professional podium last month at Utah Motorsports Campus in Pirelli World Challenge SprintX Round 4 and was on his way to a podium in GTS when a late race tire issue ended his day prematurely. Unlike the other tracks he has competed at this season, Gottsacker has driven at Sonoma Raceway before, which gives him a bit if a different outlook entering the race weekend. Instead of using early sessions to learn the track, he can focus on communicating with Performance Motorsports Group about setup changes and car preferences.
“Sonoma is a great track,” said Gottsacker. “I am excited to get back behind the wheel of my Ginetta again. It will be very interesting to see if our cars will be competitive there, but I have a good feeling that we’ll be able to keep the momentum going and hopefully pull off another podium finish.”
Events begin on Friday, September 16 with two practice sessions at 8:45 AM CT and 12:30 PM CT. Saturday, September 17 brings qualifying 12:45 PM CT and Round 16 at 4:50 PM CT. The weekend comes to a close with one final race on Sunday, September 18 that goes green at 10:15 AM CT.
