Gottsacker Leads GTS Practice at UMC
Harry Gottsacker, 17, of San Antonio, Texas, posted the fastest time in GTS practice Friday at Utah Motorspots Campus in the No. 29 Performance Motorsports Group Ginetta GT4.
Gottsacker, recipient of a pair of Optima Batteries Best Starts Awards this season, clocked a best time of one minute, 57.992 seconds during the first practice for Saturday’s GTS Round 14 competition at UMC.
Performance Motorsports Group teammate Parker Chase managed the second-best practice lap, clocking in at 1:58.061. The 16-year-old New Braunsfels, Texas, resident and third-place GTS points contender piloted the No. 19 PMG Ginetta GT4 in search of a podium-top finish this weekend.
With a third-best lap-time of 1:58.831, Miami, Fla.’s Dore Chaponick, Jr., drove the #12 ANSA Motorsports KTM XBow GT4 to within one second of the top practice lap. Nate Stacy, from Owasso, Okla., drove the No. 14 Roush Performane Road Racing Ford Mustang Boss 302 to just outside the one-second differential, clocking in at 1:58.999. Rounding out the top five was second-place GTS points contender Lawson Aschenbach, driving the No. 10 Black Dog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro Z28, to a best lap time of 1:59.094.
After another practice session later today, GTS Qualifying starts at 9:35 a.m. MDT on Saturday.
