ADAC Qualifiers 24h Nürburgring Marks Final Step for Hyundai Motor America Team Preparations for 24-Hour Race
The Hyundai Motor America Team represented by Taylor Hagler, Michael Lewis, Mason Filippi and Harry Gottsacker, are set to complete the final step of preparation for the ADAC TotalEnergies 24 Hour race with the ADAC Qualifiers 24h Nürburgring this weekend.
This qualifying race consists of two separate qualifier events beginning with a two-hour race on Saturday, April 22 then a four-hour race come Sunday, April 23. Hyundai Motorsport GmbH and Hyundai Motorsport Global, in collaboration with HMA, are partnered with Target Competition to field the Hyundai Elantra N TCR entry during the Nürburgring 24 and the mandatory requirement qualifying events. The ADAC Qualifiers 24h Nürburgring event will mark the first time all four drivers will be piloting the Elantra N TCR after driving Hyundai i30 N cars in co-driver pairs during the Nürburgring Endurance Series rounds.
All four Hyundai Motor America drivers have been competing in prerequisite racing events in the Nürburgring Endurance Series in Germany over the last month while also continuing to balance their roles in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) with Bryan Herta Autosport. After the ADAC Qualifiers 24h Nürburgring races see the checkered flag fly, the Hyundai USA Team drivers will return to the United States for the next round of IMPC competition at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on May 13 then head straight back to Germany for the ADAC TotalEnergies 24 Hour Race.
The first qualifier round of the weekend will see the clock run from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Central European Summer Time (CEST) Saturday evening followed by the four-hour second qualifier round on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. CEST with each qualifier race providing different driving conditions of day and night ahead of the 24-hour race later next month.
